2019 NBA Finals

The 2019 NBA Finals is the concluding championship series of the National Basketball Association (NBA)’s 2019 playoffs to determine the champion for the 2018–19 season. In this best-of-seven playoff, the Eastern Conference champion Toronto Raptors will face the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors. The series begins on May 30, with a seventh and final game, if necessary, on June 16.[1]The two-time

defending NBA-champion Warriors,[2] for the first time in five consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals, will not have home-court advantage in the series. It was awarded to Toronto, who finished the regular season with one more win (58–24) than Golden State (57–25). Also for the first time over those five postseasons, the Warriors

will not face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the championship round.[3] This is also the first finals since 2010 to not include LeBron James, who played in the past eight finals with Cleveland and the Miami Heat.[4] This is the first ever appearance in the finals for Toronto, and it will also be the first NBA Finals with games played outside of the United States.[5]

The Warriors finished the 2018–19 regular season with a 57–25 record, winning the Pacific Division and securing the 1st seed in the Western Conference. During an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in November, Draymond Green cursed out teammate Kevin Durant, who becomes a free agent after the season, and he was suspended for the much-publicized blowup.[6][7]

In the playoffs, Golden State defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in six games in the first round, despite blowing leads at home in Games 2 and 5.[7] In a sign of respect and with an increased urgency, head coach Steve Kerr opened the following round against the Houston Rockets by moving Andre Iguodala from the bench and starting the Hamptons Five for the first time in the season.[8][9] With the Splash Brothers, Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, struggling with their shooting, Kevin Durant had been the team’s best player in the playoffs, averaging a team-leading 35.4 points entering Game 5.[10] However, Durant left the game late in the third quarter after suffering a strained right calf;[10][11] he was later ruled out indefinitely. Led by Curry and Thompson, Golden State pulled out Game 5 without Durant, and won the series in six games.[11] [12] In the Western Conference finals, Golden State swept the Portland Trail Blazers 4–0, with three of the wins including comebacks of 15 points or more. After starting nine consecutive games,[2] Iguodala missed the deciding Game 4 with a sore left calf injury from Game 3.[13] Curry averaged a series career-high 36.5 points, the highest average by a player in a four-game sweep in NBA history.[14] This will be Golden State’s fifth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. They are the second team in NBA history to achieve this feat, joining the Boston Celtics, who played in 10 straight Finals (1957–1966)

The current list of Indy 500 winners is topped by Will Power, who won last year’s IndyCar race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Of the last six Indy 500 winners, five are in the field for the 2019 edition of the race, meaning the chances of getting a repeat Indy 500 winner are high.

The 2019 Indianapolis 500, the biggest race of the IndyCar season, is set for 12:45 p.m. ET at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday. It’s the 103rd running of this Memorial Day Weekend tradition as 33 top IndyCar drivers are set to converge on the 2.5-mile track with as many as 300,000 fans expected to pack the stands and the infield. The latest 2019 Indianapolis 500 odds have Will Power, the defending champion, as the favorite at 7-1. But eight different drivers have won the last eight Indy 500s, so there are plenty of other 2019 Indianapolis 500 contenders to consider such as Josef Newgarden (8-1), Alexander Rossi (8-1), Simon Pagenaud (8-1) and five other drivers going off at 14-1 or shorter odds, as well as plenty of huge long shots who will be looking to pull off the stunner. Before locking in any 2019 Indy 500 picks of your own for this massive race on Sunday, first be sure to see IndyCar predictions from the proven projection model over at SportsLine.

Developed by DFS pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary computer model has a proven record in multiple sports. It takes factors such as recent result and track history into account to come up with most accurate IndyCar projections imaginable. And at the 2018 Indy 500, it correctly called five of the top 10 drivers, giving anybody who took its advice plenty of strong value selections.

McClure, who has a mechanical engineering degree, grew up around race tracks like Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Big racing events like the Indianapolis 500 are in his blood. Now that the 2019 Indy 500 grid is locked, his model has simulated the event 10,000 times and the results were surprising.

One of the 2019 Indy 500 picks we’ll give away: The model is fading Newgarden, one of the Vegas favorites at 8-1. The model has Newgarden finishing outside the top three despite coming into this race as the leader in IndyCar points on the season.

Another shocker the model is predicting for the 2019 Indianapolis 500: Helio Castroneves makes a strong run at the title despite going off at 14-1 Indy 500 odds. The model says he’ll finish higher than his odds imply, so he’s a value pick you should be all over.

The 44-year old Brazilian driver has started an astonishing 252 IndyCar races in his career, and he’ll be looking to make history at the 2019 Indy 500. He’s won this event three times (2001, 2002, 2009). One more win would tie him with Rick Mears, Al Unser Sr. and A.J. Foyt for the most all-time. He had the seventh-fastest time (227.614 MPG) in Practice No. 8, so he looks to have the tools to make a strong run up the 2019 Indianapolis 500 leaderboard on Sunday.

The model also says five other drivers with odds of 12-1 or longer makes a serious run at the title. Anyone who backs these underdogs could hit it big.

here are only a few key elements essential to every successful Memorial Day weekend: A grill, a new Hollywood blockbuster movie, and the Indianapolis 500.

The annual event kicks off Sunday, May 26, at 12:45 p.m. ET. Coverage begins at noon ET on NBC, with Mike Tirico, Danica Patrick and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. calling the race. Pre-race coverage begins at 11:00 a.m. on NBC Sports Network.

The race will also stream live on the NBC Sports app, and on streaming video services like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, PlayStation Vue or Sling, so long as that service includes NBC in your market.

Weather at the start of the race is expected to be cloudy and in the high 70s, but there is the threat of rain pushing through the area starting at around 2:00 p.m. ET. If the rain interrupts the race before 101 laps have been run, it will be halted and continued on the next dry day. If rain is definitely looking to interrupt the race, officials could choose to preemptively postpone the start of the race until the next dry day. But if the race has passed the 101 lap threshold to make it official, a rain-shortened result could be called. This has happened a number of times at the Indy 500, most recently in 2007 when Dario Franchitti was named the champ in a rain-shortened race after completing 166 laps.

Get those milk bottles ready, because it is once again time for the legendary IndyCar Series event, the Indianapolis 500. The Memorial Day Weekend tradition will run for the 103rd time on Sunday afternoon.

Simon Pagenaud will be sitting in pole position at the Indy 500 for the first time in his career. Three-time pole sitter Ed Carpenter, Spencer Pigot and Ed Jones, who are all part of the Ed Carpenter racing team, will be sitting in the second, third and fourth positions, respectively.

Defending champion Will Power won’t be far behind them in the sixth position on the outside of the second row. IndyCar veteran Helio Castroneves, the only driver in the 33-person field to win multiple Indy 500 races, will have his sights set on trying to tie the record for most Indy 500 victories (four). Only three other drivers have previously accomplished the feat.

Storied Formula One driver Fernando Alonso is one of three entrants that failed to qualify. Six rookies are a part of the field, including 19-year-old Colton Herta, who will begin in the middle of the second row. Nine rookies have won the Indy 500, the most recent being Alexander Rossi in 2016.

Pagenaud (+650) is currently listed as

ith Power (+725), Rossi (+800) and Josef Newgarden (+800) right behind.

Start your engines and settle in for the next few hours – the 2019 edition of the Indianapolis 500 is here. If your idea of the perfect Sunday is watching 33 cars rounding the 2.5 mile lap 200 times, then we’ll explain how you can watch every minute of the race – no matter where in the world you are – thanks this guide to getting an Indy 500 live stream.

In a surprising turn of events during the qualifiers last Sunday, two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso failed to qualify for this year’s Indy 500. He had planned to complete the motorsport Triple Crown this year by adding an Indy 500 win to his Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans victories. However, during Alonso’s final chance to qualify in the Last Row Shootout he was knocked out of the race by 23-year-old Kyle Kaiser.

Alonso may be out but the race must go on and Simon Pagenaud, Ed Carpenter and Spencer Pigot will start first in row 1 followed by ED Jones, Colton Herta and Will Power in row 2 – the latter, of course, won last year’s Indianapolis 500.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan of IndyCar racing, need a break from all the Memorial Day sales shopping or just want to tune into the 103rd Indianapolis 500 this weekend, we’ll show you how to live stream the Indy 500 event online from anywhere in the world.

How to watch the 2019 Indy 500: live stream in the US

Racing fans in the US with a cable subscription can watch this year’s Indy 500 on NBC. This will be the first time since 1965 that the race will not be broadcast on ABC after the network lost the rights so you can bet that NBC will be going all out with its coverage of the Indy 500.

The network will begin broadcasting the event at 11am ET (8am PT, 4pm BST) though the race will start an hour and a half later at 12.30pm ET. You can also stream the Indy 500 via the NBC Sports live streaming website on desktop and mobile but you will have to enter your cable provider’s credentials to get access to this stream.

If you’d prefer to watch the Indy 500 without commercials along with every practice leading up to Sunday’s big event, you can do so by purchasing the NBC Sports Gold IndyCar Pass. Usually the annual pass costs $64.99 but NBC is offering a deal ahead of the Indy 500 where you can get it for just $39.99. In addition to additional coverage of the Indy 500, you also be able to watch every Indy Lights race this year with the ability to stream full races on-demand or watch a shortened 30-minute Fast Forward recap.

Get an Indy 500 live stream from outside your country

With plenty of US viewing options (As well as details on how to watch the Indianapolis 500 in Canada and the UK below, too), you shouldn’t have any trouble watching at home.

The problems begin if you’re away travelling outside the US this weekend. Try and tune into the NBC or any other domestic stream and you’ll soon discover a big fat geo-block in your way.

Annoying, but you can easily swerve around it with VPN. A Virtual Private Network allows you to change the IP address of your laptop, phone, tablet or – if you have one with you – TV streaming device. Set it to one back in your country (it’s surprisingly easy to do), and suddenly you’ll be able to watch an Indy 500 live stream as if you were sat back on your sofa.

How to live stream Indy 500 in the US without cable – and for FREE

If you don’t have a cable subscription, don’t worry as there are still plenty of other ways to watch the 2019 Indy 500 on NBC without subscribing or purchasing a digital antenna for your TV. To simplify things for you, we’ve listed all of the streaming services that will give you access to NBC below.
